Our Gift to the Community
On the second weekend of December, Bethany members offer a gift to the community of Fredericksburg. On that Friday and Saturday night, we transform our back parking lot into ancient Israel, displaying up to nine scenes depicting the events around Jesus' birth. Nearly 200 people dress up in period costumes to provide this free, drive thru event, and over 100 more work to set up and take down the scenes. It is a gigantic labor of love to bring the Christmas story to life.

Again, this event is free to the public, but over the years, people have wanted to give something. Therefore, at the end of the journey we graciously receive whatever folks want to give, and we give 100% of the proceeds to the Fredericksburg Food Pantry. Check out the video of our shortened (due to COVID) journey from 2020, and mark your calendar to come and see it in person this year.
